Carr Collection

This gallery is a collection of photos from Mr Pete Carr of Grimsby and are a pictorial documentation of archery just after the second world war.

The history of archery in the Grimsby area begins with the "Argoss Bowmen" who regularly practised on the sand dunes that made up the southern part of Cleethorpes sea front, in the area of the current leisure centre.

Sadly, Mr Carr is no longer with us. The photograph album has been kindly lent to this website by Harold Frayne of Grimsby Archers, in whose care the album was entrusted.
