GRIMSBY ARCHERS 50th ANNIVERSARY SHOOT

This was the first tournament to be held at Matthew Humberstone school, and thanks to the hard work of a dedicated few, the day went well for all concerned. The weather was kind to us with just a couple of small showers to cool the competitors down. A BIG thankyou to Liz Petchey who did most of the organising and constructing equipment that the club lacked. A word of cogratulations to all of the Grimsby Archers who shot so well, taking most of the first places, and in particular to Kelvin Olham and Chris Witworth who gained 2nd and 1st places respectively despite being their first "proper" tournaments. Oh yes, and a mention for Graham who managed to set a new county record, but also beat the NATIONAL record to boot!

On the subject of county records, I believe that no less than 6 county records may have been set at this shoot.

Many of the competitors had nice things to say about the organisation and the venue, and we hope to be putting more shoots on in the near future!

Thank you to everyone who came and took part, and especially to Kay for the support and guidance that enabled us to pull this off

HAVE A GO DAY APRIL 2002

The Grimsby Archers Have-A-Go day  was declared an international success, attracting visitors from as far as Scunthorpe and Greenland (Yes, Greenland!). The turnout of Grimsby Archers members was unprecedented. We would like to thank all those who helped to make the day such a success. A good day was enjoyed by our members, visitors and families.
